And she works at a marketing PR firm.

And her boss is actually supposed to go to Paris, but her boss cannot go.

And instead she sends Emily.

Speaker: 00:01:12

So Emily shows up to Paris for this job, not knowing an ounce of French or

Speaker: 00:01:17

anything, but she's very enthusiastic.

Speaker: 00:01:20

And she's very excited and Elise she's fashionable.

Speaker: 00:01:24

So she fits right in and she shows up and Sylvie, who is her boss?

Speaker: 00:01:30

Doesn't really like her too much in the beginning, but Sylvie seems like the

Speaker: 00:01:35

type of person who's hard on everyone.

Speaker: 00:01:37

So she probably doesn't open up to people too quickly.

Speaker: 00:01:40

I think it takes her some time and that's okay.

Speaker: 00:01:43

So.

Speaker: 00:01:44

Emily's in Paris now.

Speaker: 00:01:45

And she's so excited and she still has a boyfriend in Chicago, but

Speaker: 00:01:51

her boyfriend ends up not liking this whole long distance thing.

Speaker: 00:01:55

And he's like, Hey, Emily, either you move back to Chicago or I'm going

Speaker: 00:02:00

to break up with you and Emily's thinking, no, I don't think so.

Speaker: 00:02:05

I'm in Paris with this amazing job opportunity that is once in a lifetime.

Speaker: 00:02:10

And I'm not coming back to Chicago, at least not yet.

Speaker: 00:02:14

So Emily and her boyfriend break up and wherever Emily seems to

Speaker: 00:02:19

go, she just attracts all the men.

Speaker: 00:02:21

I think that it's because she's a little bit it's because she's not from there.

Speaker: 00:02:26

And she's American.

Speaker: 00:02:27

I think that they have an attraction to.

Speaker: 00:02:30

Americans and you have to admit, she is absolutely gorgeous and she's very sweet.

Speaker: 00:02:36

She's got that, you know, beautiful smile and she is quite fashionable and she's

Speaker: 00:02:42

also a little bit entertaining and funny.

Speaker: 00:02:46

So if you look at the little quirks that she has, it is probably appealing to.

Speaker: 00:02:51

So on season one, Emily moves into this building.

Speaker: 00:02:54

And as you guys know in Paris, if you don't know, I'll tell you now,

Speaker: 00:02:57

most buildings did not have elevators in Paris, so everything is stairs.

Speaker: 00:03:02

So she's got a neighbor, you know, that lives in her building and his name

Speaker: 00:03:07

is Gabriel and Gabriel's is like hot neighbor, young, sexy good-looking.

Speaker: 00:03:14

And he also happens to have a restaurant and he's a chef and Emily meets

Speaker: 00:03:20

him and he is just sweet as can be.

Speaker: 00:03:23

And he never really discloses that he has a girlfriend.

Speaker: 00:03:27

Emily had to find out the hard way, poor Emily, but you know, there's a little bit

Speaker: 00:03:31

of a traction, a little bit of flirtation and Emily leans in when she was at his

Speaker: 00:03:38

place and she kisses him one day for us.

Speaker: 00:03:41

He didn't stop her, but he's a guy, but on the same token, Emily at

Speaker: 00:03:46

the time did not know that Gabriel.

Speaker: 00:03:49

Has a girlfriend.

Speaker: 00:03:50

Yes.

Speaker: 00:03:51

Gabriel has a girlfriend

Speaker: 00:03:53

and her name is Camille and Camille is beautiful.

Speaker: 00:03:57

She's got blonde hair and she comes from a very wealthy family.

Speaker: 00:04:01

And Gabriel's been trying to.

Speaker: 00:04:04

Open up his own restaurant, but he doesn't really have the funds to do it.

Speaker: 00:04:09

And she's been talking to her family and saying, Hey, you know, my family will

Speaker: 00:04:15

invest in your restaurant, but you know, Gabriel, he's a different kind of guy.

Speaker: 00:04:19

He's not like someone who's just going to use her for that

Speaker: 00:04:23

or take her family's money.

Speaker: 00:04:25

. He believes in working hard.

Speaker: 00:04:26

He believes that he wants to do it on his own.

Speaker: 00:04:28

He doesn't really want their relationship dynamic to be

Speaker: 00:04:32

about her family, helping him.

Speaker: 00:04:35

And I think he would just feel awkward.

Speaker: 00:04:36

And quite frankly, I don't blame him.

Speaker: 00:04:39

I think that that dynamic would not work out later.

Speaker: 00:04:42

I think there would be weird feelings.

Speaker: 00:04:44

He would feel like he was beneath them or they might feel like they.

Speaker: 00:04:49

Our better, they did something for him.

Speaker: 00:04:50

So then he owes them something.

Speaker: 00:04:52

And I think he was smart when he just declined.

Speaker: 00:04:55

So that's that.

Speaker: 00:04:56

And so Emily, you know, Scott, all these like different clients, and

Speaker: 00:05:01

then she's got this amazing Instagram page that she has set up for Emily

Speaker: 00:05:07

and Paris and wherever she goes.

Speaker: 00:05:10

She takes all of these amazing photos and she's posting them on Instagram and her

Speaker: 00:05:15

Instagram is really climbing up there.

Speaker: 00:05:18

It's growing and people are engaging they're following.

Speaker: 00:05:22

And she did a really good job of that.

Speaker: 00:05:24

So, great job on that.

Speaker: 00:05:26

And then, and then there was this, woman that's like, oh, Emily,

Speaker: 00:05:31

can I have a meeting with you?

Speaker: 00:05:33

So Emily goes to meet her at like their version of the Ralph Lauren restaurant.

Speaker: 00:05:37

And.

Speaker: 00:05:38

She tells Emily that there's going to be a fashion show.

Speaker: 00:05:42

And can she have Pierre donate a dress for charity?

Speaker: 00:05:46

And suddenly it's like, oh yeah, sure.

Speaker: 00:05:48

I can, I can work it out.

Speaker: 00:05:50

So she convinces pier to donate a dress to charity and this dresses, very couture.

Speaker: 00:05:55

It's beautiful.

Speaker: 00:05:57

And it's, one of those pieces that you would say, it's one of a kind.

Speaker: 00:06:01

And so the model who's supposed to model the dress was not able to make

Speaker: 00:06:05

it to the show and the person in charge of the models comes up and

Speaker: 00:06:08

says, Matthew, do you have like a list of backup models you can call?

Speaker: 00:06:13

Like, what can we do?

Speaker: 00:06:14

And Matthew is like, you know what?

Speaker: 00:06:15

I have the perfect person in mind.

Speaker: 00:06:18

And guess at that perfect person was, of course it was Emily

Speaker: 00:06:22

and Emily gets pushed into.

Speaker: 00:06:25

Modeling this amazing dress on stage and presenting.

Speaker: 00:06:29

And she's like, uh, okay, I guess I'll do it.

Speaker: 00:06:33

She doesn't really have a choice.

Speaker: 00:06:34

I mean, this is business and you know, when you're in that situation, you do what

Speaker: 00:06:39

you're supposed to do to get the job done.

Speaker: 00:06:41

And that's what she did.

Speaker: 00:06:42

But little does she know?

Speaker: 00:06:43

There's like these guys there that are like called gray space and

Speaker: 00:06:48

they're literally remind me of Ghostbusters and that survived.

Speaker: 00:06:51

And there was like an auction to bid on that dress and people are bidding

Speaker: 00:06:56

and they're driving the bid up.

Speaker: 00:06:57

So ultimately they won the bid and they go up to the front by the stage where

Speaker: 00:07:03

Emily was standing there in the dress and they have their, machine guns, like the

Speaker: 00:07:09

ones that you would see in Ghostbusters.

Speaker: 00:07:11

And they shoot at Emily.

Speaker: 00:07:14

And there's like paint and the paint comes out and they don't shoot one time.

Speaker: 00:07:19

They shoot one time, two times, three times, and her dress is

Speaker: 00:07:25

destroyed with all of this paint.

Speaker: 00:07:27

And as a result of that, Pierre is so upset because this is his creation and

Speaker: 00:07:35

everything that happened at that time.

Speaker: 00:07:37

Showed up in the newspapers, literally the next morning.

Speaker: 00:07:40

And he was really humiliated.

Speaker: 00:07:43

He was embarrassed.

Speaker: 00:07:44

He was really just not feeling like leaving his house even

Speaker: 00:07:49

because he just felt like it was so bad for his reputation.

Speaker: 00:07:52

What happened?

Speaker: 00:07:53

And do we blame Emily?

Speaker: 00:07:55

I don't know if I blame her.

Speaker: 00:07:57

I mean, the only thing that she really did is agreeing to donate a dress.

Speaker: 00:08:00

Right.

Speaker: 00:08:01

And I guess there's a, there's not really any harm in donating a dress.

Speaker: 00:08:05

the rest of it, it was that she got forced into modeling the dress.

Speaker: 00:08:08

Right.

Speaker: 00:08:09

You guys.

Speaker: 00:08:09

So if she was forced into it, that's that, but she didn't volunteer and

Speaker: 00:08:14

say, oh, I want to model the dress.

Speaker: 00:08:16

And she didn't know, these guys were gonna do what they did and they did.

Speaker: 00:08:20

so the situation is what it is, but I really felt bad for Emily at that moment.

Speaker: 00:08:25

and not just did I feel bad, but at that moment, when Emily goes back

Speaker: 00:08:30

to the office, the next day Sylvie is furious because they lose the.

Speaker: 00:08:36

And she thinks it's because of it's all Emily's fault.

Speaker: 00:08:40

So she fires Emiline.

Speaker: 00:08:42

But in France, from what I heard on the show, you can't really fire people

Speaker: 00:08:49

and it's not easy to get rid of them.

Speaker: 00:08:51

So Emily's colleagues and friends at the firm tell her like, listen,

Speaker: 00:08:57

Emily, you may not know this, but.

Speaker: 00:09:00

They can't fire you.

Speaker: 00:09:01

It's not that easy to get rid of you.

Speaker: 00:09:03

They have to go through all of these different things.

Speaker: 00:09:06

So just come back to work tomorrow.

Speaker: 00:09:08

And so Emily's like, okay, so Emily comes back to work tomorrow

Speaker: 00:09:12

and still be Caesar there.

Speaker: 00:09:13

And so it was like, what are you doing here?

Speaker: 00:09:15

And she's like, oh, you know, you actually can't fire me from what I hear.

Speaker: 00:09:20

So I might as well just come back.

Speaker: 00:09:22

And Sylvie's just kinda like, at this point, she's like, I

Speaker: 00:09:25

can't be bothered with Emily.

Speaker: 00:09:27

Fine.

Speaker: 00:09:28

Emily do whatever, but stat on my way kind of attitude.

Speaker: 00:09:31

And so, pier.

Speaker: 00:09:33

We'll go into this story is that peer also has a nephew and his name is

Speaker: 00:09:38

Matthew and Matthew, you know, has a little bit of a crush on Emily.

Speaker: 00:09:45

And he invites her to, meet up one night and she's like, oh, I have to go to

Speaker: 00:09:49

this art gallery thing with my friends.

Speaker: 00:09:50

He's like, oh, great.

Speaker: 00:09:52

Where is it?

Speaker: 00:09:52

Send me the address.

Speaker: 00:09:53

I'll meet you there.

Speaker: 00:09:54

And he didn't just say it.

Speaker: 00:09:56

He actually showed up.

Speaker: 00:09:57

And after that, I think they grabbed dinner and they were walking and, you

Speaker: 00:10:03

know, on, on a second, date, whatever you want to call it, he invited her

Speaker: 00:10:07

to meet him at this, restaurant.

Speaker: 00:10:09

And she gets there and he's like, she gets there and she doesn't see him.

Speaker: 00:10:12

And she's like, well, where are you?

Speaker: 00:10:14

And he's like, I didn't say.

Speaker: 00:10:16

In the restaurant.

Speaker: 00:10:17

I said, I was by the restaurant and he tells her to come outside.

Speaker: 00:10:21

She goes outside and he is waving to her on this boat in the river.

Speaker: 00:10:27

And that is just so romantic.

Speaker: 00:10:30

And it's exactly what Paris is all about.

Speaker: 00:10:32

So.

Speaker: 00:10:33

She goes out there and she gets in the boat with him and I think

Speaker: 00:10:37

they had this wonderful evening.

Speaker: 00:10:39

She goes back to his place and they are on the balcony.

Speaker: 00:10:43

He's got the most beautiful view ever.

Speaker: 00:10:46

, and they exchange a kiss and then his phone.

Speaker: 00:10:49

And he doesn't answer.

Speaker: 00:10:51

I think his cell phone rang and he didn't answer, but then the home phone rang

Speaker: 00:10:55

and he's like, oh, I have to get that.

Speaker: 00:10:57

Because the only person who calls me on the home phone is Pierre and

Speaker: 00:11:02

Pierre is really upset right now.

Speaker: 00:11:05

So I have to take this call.

Speaker: 00:11:06

So he got on the phone, he had to leave and Emily was

Speaker: 00:11:10

left there and showed herself.

Speaker: 00:11:12

And then also on the season, Emily, was supposed to arrange a dinner for

Speaker: 00:11:16

her coworkers and the restaurant that she thought she made reservations

Speaker: 00:11:21

that when she got there, they were like, no, we can't fit you in.

Speaker: 00:11:24

We're totally booked.

Speaker: 00:11:25

We don't have any vacancy.

Speaker: 00:11:27

Sorry.

Speaker: 00:11:28

So then she's thinking, well, what do I do?

Speaker: 00:11:30

So she thinks about the fact that Gabriel, you know, has his

Speaker: 00:11:34

restaurant and he's a chef and he's her friend, he's her neighbor.

Speaker: 00:11:37

And she arranges for everyone to go there.

Speaker: 00:11:40

So they go there and Sylvie can see that there's something going on between them,

Speaker: 00:11:48

even if it's just chemistry at this point.

Speaker: 00:11:50

And so after everyone leaves.

Speaker: 00:11:53

Emily goes to talk to Gabriel and she's thinking him and she

Speaker: 00:11:58

kisses him and he kisses her back.

Speaker: 00:12:01

And I think he was a little shocked, but this is not the first kiss you guys.

Speaker: 00:12:05

This is the second kiss.

Speaker: 00:12:07

And then he discloses to her that he's actually leaving and he's

Speaker: 00:12:13

moving to Normandy to open up, you know, a restaurant there.

Speaker: 00:12:17

And at this point, she wasn't expecting that.

Speaker: 00:12:19

So she's so shocked and she's like, wow, he's moving to Normandy.

Speaker: 00:12:24

And at this point, you know, she doesn't really want him

Speaker: 00:12:28

to move, but it is what it is.

Speaker: 00:12:30

And then she also didn't realize that he had a girlfriend.

Speaker: 00:12:36

. So then she sees Camille who she had become friends with,

Speaker: 00:12:40

from meeting her out and about.

Speaker: 00:12:43

And Camille was really friendly towards her and, you know,

Speaker: 00:12:45

always like was inviting her to events and things like that.

Speaker: 00:12:49

So Camille comes by and she's like, oh, Hey honey.

Speaker: 00:12:51

And she gives Gabriel a kiss and Emily's like, I can just see the look on her face.

Speaker: 00:12:58

She's like, oh my God, I didn't know.

Speaker: 00:13:00

You had a boyfriend.

Speaker: 00:13:02

Yeah, Emily, he didn't tell you Diddy.

Speaker: 00:13:04

Hmm.

Speaker: 00:13:05

But you didn't ask him, did you?

Speaker: 00:13:06

But then again, he seemed pretty single to me if I say so myself, but you never know.

Speaker: 00:13:13

So I think it's always a good idea to ask, but Emily's like, oh my

Speaker: 00:13:17

God, like he's leaving and I can just see the look on her face, but

Speaker: 00:13:20

she's also like, oh, I didn't know.

Speaker: 00:13:21

He had a girlfriend.

Speaker: 00:13:22

So I think a little bit, she's kind of like, well, might as well give up on

Speaker: 00:13:26

him, like, where's this going to go?

Speaker: 00:13:28

I'm just going to be the other woman.

Speaker: 00:13:30

And that's no fun.

Speaker: 00:13:32

And the problem is that she can't get him off of her mind and she knows that

Speaker: 00:13:37

he's going to be leaving the next day.

Speaker: 00:13:39

So she goes to the restaurant and the restaurants like.

Speaker: 00:13:43

And she's banging on the door and then he, he come and then Gabriel comes out from

Speaker: 00:13:47

the side door and he's like, are you okay?

Speaker: 00:13:52

Are you looking for me?

Speaker: 00:13:53

What's going on?

Speaker: 00:13:54

And she's like, yeah, I was looking for you.

Speaker: 00:13:57

And then she, you know, she, she talks to him and he's like, yeah, I'm pretty

Speaker: 00:14:01

much, you know, going to be gone tomorrow morning and this is happening.

Speaker: 00:14:06

And she's like, oh my God, like really?

Speaker: 00:14:08

Are you sure?

Speaker: 00:14:09

And he's like, yeah, it's for the best.

Speaker: 00:14:11

And so one thing leads to another and Emily and Gabriel ended up hooking

Speaker: 00:14:18

up and she has the most amazing sex.

Speaker: 00:14:23

At least that's what you says on episode two.

Speaker: 00:14:25

And she can't get him out of her mind.

Speaker: 00:14:29

And then she rushes over in the morning.

Speaker: 00:14:32

Cause she just has to see him one last time before he goes and she misses

Speaker: 00:14:36

him and she goes to the restaurant and everything seems locked up

Speaker: 00:14:40

and she gets her and she says that Anton is sitting there and

Speaker: 00:14:43

Antone's like, oh, Hey Emily.

Speaker: 00:14:45

And she's like, Hey, what are you doing here?

Speaker: 00:14:46

I was like, yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm buying this place.

Speaker: 00:14:49

So Anton ends up being the investor.

Speaker: 00:14:53

For the restaurant and he wants to rename it, redo it.

Speaker: 00:14:57

And guess what you guys, Gabriel is not going to Normandy.

Speaker: 00:15:02

Gabriel is staying in Paris and now the drummer really begins because

Speaker: 00:15:09

Emily finds herself in a little bit of a love triangle, and she feels

Speaker: 00:15:14

very guilty because Camille is supposedly her friend and Gabriel.

Speaker: 00:15:20

Well, we don't know what he is yet, but he's definitely hot.

Speaker: 00:15:23

And you guys would just have to tune in to see what happens.
